the morse code
of a leaky faucet
in the night . . .
so many thoughts stirring
into the water's flow

I went
not to tread his path
in old lisbon
only later to find
he had done the same

in a corner
of the old cabinet
the old hat box
one day to be opened
by a young boy in helmet
