Under the Bashō will be taking a much needed rest through 2021 with plans to call for submissions for Under the Bashō 2022 on March 1 2022.

We thank all the poets who have submitted poems between 2013 - 2020. We especially thank all the editors who have gone through each submission selecting work they deemed suitable for publication in Under the Bashō.

Many among us, whose health and well-being have suffered significantly during the continuing COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, as well as from political upheavals and (especially) the ever-deepening impact of this rapidly unfolding Anthropocene extinction event, need to take time in 2021 to breathe deeply. Poetry is the overspill into the communal world of our interior lives. We look forward to the time when our narrow roads through the interior intersect again.

Be well and be kind in all you do, especially to yourselves.
